My blog page currently shows the latest blog article across the width of the page, followed by two half-page columns showing the three latest posts before that, followed by links to earlier articles.

Is it possible to change the configuration so that only the latest article is shown, followed by links to earlier articles?

That plugin (frontpage) is NOT what I need. I think it automatically sends the latest article to the front page. Very cool, but not what I need.

I need:

only one blog post to show on the BLOG page.

This may be a Joomla issue, not a Movable Type issue, however, in which case I need to fiddle with what the page displays instead of what MT displays.

Yep, it turned out to be a Joomla issue, and I found a tutorial here (it teaches it for the home page, but I used the same instructions to alter the blog page settings. I guess ignorance isn't bliss after all.
