いや・・・できるはずなんですけど・・・。
何か他のことが影響しているのだろうか・・・。
うちのhttp://demo.joomler.net/ は以前からSyntaxHighlighterの記事を1番目にしてそれから何度か新しい投稿をしていますが、問題ないですね。
うちのは、同じカテゴリーですが、カテゴリー順が影響しているのかもしれませんね。カテゴリーが異なりますか？

他の設定が何か影響しているかな・・・。

動作の順番は、Frontpage Auto Updateが順番を入れ替えてからJoomla!本体が動きます。なので本体側で並び順が入れ替わるとその後は何もできないですね。
動作するタイミングを変えた方がいいのかなとも思いましたが、他に順番を並び替えられる適当なタイミングが実装されていないような気がします。

丁寧な解説ありがとうございまっす！

どうやら、記事を途中で手動入れかえ＋記事投稿時にフロントページ指定をしていたのが原因みたいです。
新しい記事を追加したら、表示は治ったみたいです…
お手数かけちゃいました。

固定はたぶん、いったん記事を削除してやればできそうかな？

削除しなくてもできるはずですよ。

このエクステンションは、結構気むずかしいですねぇ。
表示順では、指定順にするのが一番いいのかもしれません。
